Spandan 2022

The first season of SPANDAN, an annual festival of food, culture, and art concludes with a heartwarming response from the audience who enjoyed the amazing performances by the artists who traveled from different parts of India to Batauli.

The main purpose of Spandan was to create a bridge between the village and city life. The kids and the villagers had witnessed classical art forms for the first time being performed LIVE and especially for them.

To be performing for the villagers and the kids of Project Batauli was one of its kind experience for the artists and witnessing the local tribal dance was something that was very new to them and they enjoyed it thoroughly.

The performers who performed at Spandan 2022 were-

1. Folk singer, Shweta Das Mahant from Ghargoda.

2. Classical Singer, Akshat Prataap Singh from Varanasi.

3. Musician and beatboxer, Priyash Pathak from Mumbai.

4. Sitar Vadak, Aniket Ghivalikar from Mumbai.

The time stopped at the bank of river Ghunghutta where everyone was indulged in the storytelling session by Pankhuri Harsh and Abhinandan Tiwari.

At the stalls of Spandan various artists and craftsmen exhibited their artwork like Bamboo art, Paintings, Brass art, etc, At Spandan noble causes like LP4Y, were also encouraged.

The audience enjoyed the local delicacy cooked by the women self-help groups of Project Batauli who were extremely happy and grateful as it was for the first time that they were provided with a stall at any such event which was profitable for them monetarily as well.

A visit to Shimla of Chhattisgarh (Mainpat) and a nature walk was also a part of the two days program for the participants who had registered and arrived at Batauli Ghar.

The participants faired well with the ideology of Batauli Ghar which promotes a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle.

The event wouldn’t have been possible without the grace of God and the months of dedication by the volunteers of Project Batauli.

We wholeheartedly thank the sponsors, who had faith in us and have contributed generously to make this event a successful one. We also thank Shri Mahavir Hospital for first aid support.

We’re ever more excited to conduct more such events that bridge the gap between city and village life after receiving tremendous love from everyone who was a part of SPANDAN 2022.

Thank you
