The tribes of Chhattisgarh have always been super skilled in terms of using wood, leaf and grass.
Many tribes including Pahadi Korwa are fully dependent on Jungle for their livelihood.

Chind is one of the Wild grass available in forests of Chhattisgarh and it has such quality that makes it different from the other grass. Chid mat is the traditional art of the villagers of Batauli which they are practicing since decades but it is now been replaced by plastic mats. Project Batauli is trying to restore this traditional art by giving them skill training about how to make those mats more comfortable and long lasting, we’re helping the villagers to find bigger and broader market for this beautiful art.

These mats can be used as a bed runner, as a yoga mat, and even as the floor mat and can be customized in any size. These mats are available for purchase in our store.
